Approved Training Organisations (ATOs)

There are three Approved Training Organisations (ATOs) in the UK with a licence to deliver accreditation training. The approval process involves a thorough scrutiny of all aspects of the training company and requires their participation in a train-the-trainer programme.  The approved training organisations and their course trainers are regularly monitored to check the quality and content of the training provided.

The ATOs offer both public and private / in-house services for APMP accreditation.  We encourage you to contact them directly to discuss your specific individual, team or corporate requirements.

Some ATOs provide public courses, others run specialist in-house courses; please contact them directly or check their web sites for information and availability.

Shipley has been an Approved Training Organisation for the APMP since the launch of the Approved Training Programme in April 2006. Since then Shipley has prepared over 800 people for the APMP Foundation Exam. Shipley’s worldwide presence provides Foundation training in the UK, Europe, India, USA, South Africa and the Middle East.  We have approved trainers in all our locations, providing flexible delivery of in-house or open workshops. Shipley’s Tony Birch and Cathy Day are both APMP Fellows.

Shipley’s APMP Foundation Level Accreditation one day workshop is an intensive workshop that provides candidates with an opportunity to consolidate their knowledge of the competency areas tested by the APMP.   Preparation for the Foundation exam is through a series of leader-led discussions and structured exercises.   Candidates have the opportunity to sit ‘representative exam papers’ to confirm their understanding of the best practices tested in the Foundation Exam.

Sixfold now has a range of courses planned for London, Manchester and in Reading.

Sixfold has created a course for the Foundation examination using the very latest APMP best practice that is designed to deliver immediate improvements to your skills and processes.   This draws on Sixfold’s Sales Improvement programmes over 30 years to companies as diverse as Unisys, Midland HR and HP.  We also advise purchasing organisations on best procurement practice, which gives us a unique perspective.  Moreover, Sixfold has developed its own “Secret Weapon” to help delegates tackle the examination more easily.

Sixfold’s instructors are able to bring real life experience to the Foundation level course and make the day truly interactive.  On completion, candidates will be fully prepared to pass the exam and will understand how to use their knowledge to improve their performance in the workplace.

Over the past ten years, we’ve helped over 2,000 candidates to pass APMP’s Foundation Level exam, and over 200 to gain their Practitioner certification. We’re recognised for our high-impact training, and our programmes have won APMP UK’s prestigious ‘People Development’ award in each of the past three years - for Capita, Vodafone and (in 2016) WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff. Our trainers (led by Jon Williams, a Fellow of both APMP and the Royal Society of Arts) regularly roll up their sleeves to win live deals – in the public and private sectors, in the UK and beyond – as well as delivering our courses.

Our one-day Foundation and Practitioner sessions in London, Manchester and Edinburgh in 2017 can be booked online here. Please contact Jon if you’d like to chat about these, or about our in-house APMP training and other bid/proposal training courses.
